How to Choose the Best Décor for Your Home

When you’re choosing your wall décor, sometimes it can be overwhelming.  There are so many pieces you see in the stores, and you might wonder if that will work or not with those faux stone panels you have in your home.  However, there are good ways to figure out the décor for your space, and this post will go over the best ways to do it.

The first thing to remember is that this is your style.  You need to remember that at the end of it, it’s what is right for you. so what if some sort of snob comes in and nitpicks how the Faux Stone Panels are. Is this their home? No it’s not.  You should make sure that you do what you feel is right. Pick pieces that speak to you, and if you like it, it’ll definitely fit better.  So be smart with that, and choose what’s right for you.

You should also try out various pieces of art or décor for a space if you feel that it’s not what you think is right.  If you don’t know if it’ll fit in a room, try it once or twice.  See what works best for your home, and see if the accent piece is fitting or not.  Remember, this is your project, so you can experiment.

You can also do this with small spaces.  If you have an empty space or a narrow wall, or you don’t’ like the back corner staring directly at the observer, you can put some small items together in order to create a gallery wall. You should remember to experiment with this, and see if the center point is at eye level and is about to fill about three quarters of the space. If it does, then it will fit it.

Finally, let’s look at the element of empty walls. Now, you could get some faux stone panels and such as the major accent piece, but if you feel like you want to fill up a large wall, sometimes having art that is landscape-focused works well, and you should look to see that it extends all the way out to the parameters necessary, so that it doesn’t look weird or it looks lost.  If you feel like you need something big, then go big.  You can also get little shelves around it to put small pieces there if you feel like you have a good piece but want the attention more focused there. Plus, if you have other sorts of decorations about that fit it, it’ll create an even bigger impression on you as well.

When you’re creating a room and choosing the living room, bedroom, or in essence any decoration, think about what you want, and choose the pieces that you feel best fit. Bring a picture with you for reference, for it does help out, and from there you can decide for yourself if it’s the best piece for you.
